Executives from United, Delta, American Spirit and Frontier airlines will testify Wednesday to defend billions of dollars in airline seating fees at a U.S. Senate subcommittee hearing.

“Those lower fares, so called economy class, are basically for people who travel with no more than the shirt on their back and the underwear and socks they have on,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) said. Those senators say airlines are making billions from the junk charges.
