Auburn basketball proved last Saturday that any win is a good win. The No. 1 Tigers defeated No. 7 Tennessee, 53-51, on Saturday at Neville Arena despite shooting 31% from the field. Two of its offensive weapons, Denver Jones and Chad Baker-Mazara, were shut out from the field, and freshman Tahaad Pettiford shot 33% on the night.

Auburn men’s basketball sits atop the AP top 25 for a third straight week. It comes after a 53-51 victory over Tennessee, behind a double-double performance from leading scorer Johni Broome. Duke remains at No. 2 in the AP poll with the Iowa State Cyclones at No. 3.

The No. 7 Vols lost 53-51 to the No. 1 Tigers at Neville Arena, falling to 2-2 against No. 1 teams under coach Rick Barnes.
