In light of Cargill's closure announcement for the Springdale turkey plant, we're shedding light on problems in the business.

Cargill will close its turkey processing plant in Springdale on Aug. 1, a company spokesperson confirmed Tuesday. This will cost about 1,100 people their jobs. Cargill's spokesperson said this is the right move to make for the future of the company's turkey business.

The closures, which will lead to layoffs of more than 1,600 people, come as bird flu ravages farms and consumer tastes change.
