The ban was reportedly imposed in a letter issued by ISKCON’s CPT in the UK on October 6 last year. The organisation maintained that the ban has not been lifted as of now.

Earlier, General Secretary Of ISKCON Bangladesh Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari had said that the arrested monk had been removed from all positions due to breach of discipline. On this, the group clarified that Das was not an official member of the organisation and it did not attempt to distance itself from him.

ISKCON supported priest Chinmoy Krishna Das after his arrest for allegedly raising a flag with Bangladesh's national flag. Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina condemned the arrest and called for his release.
