Cyclone Fengal is still in the Bay of Bengal, away from the eastern coast of India, but its effects are being felt in states in the region. Chennai city and Chennai District have seen considerable rains in last few days and more heavy rains are predicted for Thursday (November 28).

The cyclone is expected to cross north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram around 30 November morning as a depression with a wind speed of 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph.
