India Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall across different districts of Kerala for the next few days, issuing an orange alert.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of ongoing rainfall and advised precautions to prevent flooding and waterlogging.

Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre Director S Balachandran told ANI that the deep depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal now lies at about 310 km southeast of Nagapattinam and 410 km southeast of Puducherry and south-southeast of Chennai at about 480 km.

The Weather Department has also warned that there will be dense fog conditions during the late night and early morning hours in North India till November 30.

Due to heavy rain, the Chennai district collector declared a holiday for schools on Friday. Chengalpettu district also followed suit. The deep depression in the Bay of Bengal is projected to weaken without forming Cyclone Fengal.
