Charlie Lindgren, Washington Capitals
Capitals give it to Charlie Lindgren in the best way possible after last night's all-time gaffe
In case you missed it last night, Washington Capitals goaltender Charlie Lindgren had an all-time gaffe when he absolutely buried a puck in his own net (read below for last night's full report). The good news is that the team stuck with it and came back to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning, despite Lindgren's enormous mistake.
Capitals rally in 3rd, overcome gaffe by Lindgren to top Lightning
TAMPA -- Tom Wilson broke a tie with 3:26 remaining, and the Washington Capitals scored three goals in the third period to rally for a 5-4 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena on Wednesday.
Capitals 'laugh off' Charlie Lindgren's own goal, rally to win
Washington Capitals goalie Charlie Lindgren was able to laugh at himself after committing what he called "the worst mistake" he has ever made on ice. It helped that his teammates went on to bail him out, rallying the Capitals to a 5-4 victory Wednesday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Caps erase Charlie Lindgren’s gaffe in uplifting win over Lightning
The moment the puck left Charlie Lindgren’s stick, he knew what he had done. The Washington Capitals goaltender, attempting to send the puck around Amalie Arena’s end boards, instead backhanded it directly into his own net.
