Mayor Brandon Johnson condemned the attack and offered condolences to the victims in a social media post Tuesday. “There is no place in our city for senseless acts of violence.”

Three people died and five others were injured after a mass shooting inside a home in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, police said.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene. A 6-month-old boy who was in the back seat of the man's car suffered a graze wound to the right cheek. The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition. Investigators say there were no other reported injuries.
