Saka created Arsenal’s first two goals, with his 10th-minute corner headed home by Gabriel, before the England winger laid it on a plate for Trossard to tuck in a second before the half-hour. In so doing, Saka became the first player to reach double figures for assists across Europe's top five leagues.

It's hard to take too many lessons from Arsenal's 5-2 win at West Ham. Ultimately, it was a game that showed the best of the Gunners and of the Premier League.

West Ham have not had the best of times against the Gunners in the Premier League era. Indeed they have lost more games overall (36) and at home (15) against them than any other opponent, winning just one of their last 16 in east London.
