The three Cup rings — from Penguins championships in 2009, 2016 and 2017 — were initially believed to have been missing.

On Monday, it was announced by the Pittsburgh Penguins that second-line center Evgeni Malkin was placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury that will keep him out week-to-week. In a corresponding move, the Penguins decided to recall winger Jesse Puljujarvi, who has three goals and nine points in 25 games with the NHL club this season.
After the loss, Sullivan provided his thoughts on Malkin's absence from the lineup. “He's an important player for us,” the Penguins bench boss said, via NHL.com. “He's a top-two center, he's dynamic with the puck. He's not an easy guy to replace.”
Malkin, now in his 19th NHL season, has recorded nine goals and 25 assists in 47 games this year. Career-wise, the Russian has won three Stanley Cup titles with the Penguins and an Art Ross Trophy, recently hitting the 500-goal plateau (something only 48 players have done) in Pittsburgh.
