The Boston Bruins didn’t get a ton of offense on Saturday afternoon at TD Garden, but Morgan Geekie supplied all they needed by scoring two goals in a 3-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche.

Boston Bruins forward Morgan Geekie dropped a very stern message to the team, including captain Brad Marchand and interim head coach Joe Sacco after a harsh 5-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils.

Geekie did not stop there, though, as he also scored the Bruins' game-winning at the 5:44 mark of the third period. Pastrnak once again set up Geekie with an outstanding feed, and Geekie snapped it home for his second of the game.

On Friday, the Avalanche acquired forwards Martin Necas and Jack Drury in a trade with the Carolina Hurricanes. Necas posted 298 points (113g/185a) in 411 games with Carolina. Additionally, Drury is the nephew of Chris Drury, who helped the Avalanche win the Stanley Cup in 2001.

David Pastrnak had a goal and two assists, and the Boston Bruins beat Colorado 3-1 on Saturday, a day after the Avalanche traded star winger Mikko Rantanen.

As far-fetched as it may seem at this point for the Bruins to trade Marchand, it’s not totally out of the realm of possibility. Bruins fans would no doubt hate it, but it could help the future of the organization, and also allow Marchand a chance at another Cup.
