One woman is dead after a home in South Philadelphia erupted into flames on Wednesday. Firefighters rushed to the 2700 block of South Darien Street before 11 a.m. after getting word that people were possibly trapped inside.

Authorities are trying to determine the cause of a house fire that killed a woman in South Philadelphia. After extinguishing the blaze, crews found her dead in the living room.

On Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 10:41 a.m., firefighters responded to a reported house fire on the 2700 block of South Darien Street. A woman was later found unresponsive inside the living room of the home. She was pronounced dead by firefighters at 10:50 a.m.
