Caretaker CM Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar arrived in Delhi on Thursday night for the crucial meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah amid the suspense over the CM post.

NCP's Ajit Pawar who is part of the Mahayuti alliance said that the Maharashtra government formation decision will be taken at around 9 PM after meeting with Amit Shah in New Delhi.

Sources from within the alliance said that the BJP was keen on keeping home and administration, and the NCP on finance, with urban development, agriculture and water resources likely to go to the Shiv Sena.

The majority are suggesting Devendra Fadnavis is the likely choice to lead the government as BJP swept the polls bagging 132 constituencies.
