People have been urged to stay at home as violent storm force winds brought by Storm Éowyn batter the Isle of Man. A red weather warning has been put in place until 14:00 GMT, with Ronaldsway Met Office warning of gusts of up to 85mph (137km/h) in exposed areas.

Storm Darragh in December was the last time a red weather warning was issued. Before this the last one was in January 2024 when winds battered the north east of Scotland.
