In the wake of an extreme cold watch beginning Monday, Columbus will open five city warming centers for MLK holiday to protect folks from the cold.

"Try to get them [unhoused individuals] in if you can, or tell them to stop them and make them aware that the warming centers are open. Get in. Its gonna be cold. Half the time, they don't have phones. Our folks don't have phones to keep up with the weather. We want to make sure we're saving lives at all costs."
