Republican Rep. Derrick Van Orden (Wis.) said he is willing to “pay more for guacamole” under President-elect Trump’s tariff plan if it means getting rid of fentanyl across the country. Rep. Van Orden, R-Wis. argued that slightly more expensive imports from Mexico are an easy price to pay when American lives are what’s at stake.

Trump’s social media post came out around the time he announced he had a “productive” conversation with Sheinbaum. He claimed the president agreed to “stop migration.” Sheinbaum said the two had an “excellent conversation” but disagreed with Trump’s characterization of the call.
